A. Registrations are open from now and the school will open officially on the 1st September 2021 or earlier depending on the directive from the Ministry of Education
A. The school will be co-educational i.e. both boys and girls. Classes will be mixed. Swimming will be taught separately from Year 3.
A. There will be early bird registration – Free registration for any application received before 31st January 2021
A. Pre-school to Year 9
A. Mostly from the UK but some Arabic teachers will come from other regions
A. Very little difference. We intend to replicate the standards of teaching and learning across all of our schools
A. No. It will be modified to suit local circumstances as well as including, Arabic, Qatar History and Islamic Studies as instructed by the MoEHE
A. A full range of both sporting and non-sporting activities will be provided (subject to demand)
A. We pride ourselves on our openness and approachability. So, within reasonable limits, you will always be able to communicate directly with members of staff including the Headteacher
A. There will be both male and female prayer rooms
A. There will be a fully serviced refectory serving hot meals and snacks
A. There will be access to a full range of sporting activities e.g. football, basketball, netball, gymnastics etc.
A. There will be a modern and fully equipped theatre.
A. Yes, there is a designated zone for drop-off and pick-up.
A. The school will apply all necessary health and safety measures to ensure the safety of our community
A. Any application to transfer during the initial phase of opening will be considered on its merits. However, after initial period, transfers between campuses will not be allowed.
A. These will be displayed on the website as soon as they are available.
Q. Will parents get an opportunity to meet the Principal/Headteacher/Senior staff before the opening of the school?
A. Felice Kelly has recently been appointed as Head Teacher. Felice has been Deputy Head Teacher at DBS Ain Khaled and has worked in DBS for 8 years. Felice Kelly will be arranging events whereby potential parents can meet and ask questions regarding the new school.
Q. Will the school go beyond Y9 or will I have to move my child once they complete Y9 for them to study iGCSE or A levels?
A. The school will initially open up to Year 9 and extend to Year 10 in September 2022.
A. Yes, The uniform will be the same as the current uniform worn at Ain Khaled and Wakra.
